EM4102 (previously known as H4102) is a CMOS integrated circuit used to construct read-only RF transponders. The circuit is powered through the magnetic field used for data transmission. When the chip receives the clock signal, it transmits back the 64-bit code present in its ROM memory by modulating the signal. Unique code ROM programming is done during manufacturing through laser fusion of polysilicon. The chip is available in various data transfer speeds on the carrier frequency: 64, 32, and 16 periods, and with different types of encoding: Manchester, Biphase, and PSK. Due to low power consumption, buffer capacitors are not necessary, only the external coil. The 78 pF resonance capacitor is also integrated.
